Medusa’s Make Up – March 2019

After receiving a marketing email, I decided to re-subscribe to Medusa’s subscription box. I went with six months this time. Here I have Marches box, however, I started this again in February. I just never got around to posting that box. I still might as, for me, it has been the best box and I am loving one of the products (the one that roped me into doing this again). The cost of the box came to $22.50USD. I believe it is pretty close to the same as when I quit getting it last year.

Marches box is very spring like colours. Makes me hopeful the snow will quit!

Now the eye dust lid seemed to have gotten a little loose during shipping. There was a slight coating on everything. You can kind of see the sheen on the black bottle. Not a big deal since it did not come completely off. The seal was also still attached.

Cucumber Toner – $12.95USD. I received a rose one last year. This smells like real cucumber (peel and all) in my opinion. I have not tried it as I do not actually like cucumber, I do not expect the smell to linger on the skin as well. I think this will be very relaxing and cooling compared to rose one I have tried.

Witch Lash Mascara – El Gato Negro – $12.00USD. This is a black, waterproof, super thickening mascara. I did not realize this was waterproof. I have not opened it up and tried it out yet. Seeing as it is a different formula than the electric blue one I use, I will not even bother guessing what it will be like.

Disco Queen Lip Gloss – Hot Stuff – $11.95USD. I regret not trying this out but the eye look I went for did not support it. This is suppose to be a purplish red with violet pearl. I almost want to pair this with the Amour blush from them. I will be opening this sooner than anticipated.

Eye Dust – Comet – $8.00USD. In the left hand swatch I have an eye primer underneath (Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion) and on the right is an unbiased swatch. I did swatch with a brush since that is how I apply it. You can see this is a minty colour. It is also very wearable. The swatch online for this however does show it as more of an olive or moss green colour. I am no way mad about this. I once upon a time had a colour very similar.

I did not get a picture with the look I created with using the eye dust. I will update with more pictures and thoughts as I use items.

The total value of the items received had I purchased them separate comes to $44.90USD. This nearly (ten cents off) double the value of what I did pay for the box. The only thing I would not have purchased out everything would be the toner. Even taking that off it is still a higher value than what I paid.

Luxe Box – Spring 2018

This is my second box in my purchase of year subscription. It is a quarterly subscription (which is why I had to go with a year). I paid $96.00 CAD with free shipping. If you wish to pay quarterly it is $26.00 CAD and free shipping with in Canada.

I am not sure where the winter box went maybe the last one was mislabeled.

We have a travel size can of Professional Sebastian – Shaper Plus+. This is an extra hold hairspray. Not a common thing for me to use. I honestly cannot remember the last time I used hairspray. I am going to hold onto this as a back up though. I do occasionally wish I had some.

Here we have a Pedi in a Box by Voesh in a lemon flavour. It claims to be a waterless 3 step. However, you are required to use water in the first two steps. That is not what I consider waterless. I also see water in the ingredient list.

Manna Kadar Beauty – Lash Extending Primer. Oh, how I wish I had waited to purchase primer. I am using one right now and so far I cannot say I like it but if it keeps to under perform I will try this one next. I am interested in finding out how it does with extending my lashes.

I did try swatching this but you could not really see it against my skin. Its a shimmer eye pencil by Laritzy Cosmetics. I do have a few things by this brand and the formula for the eye pencil seems nice on the swatch. I just need to buy a sharpener.

We have China Glaze in Stop that Train! I do like the colour and I have lots by this brand. It is a nice shimmer in a red/copper hue.

#GRLPWR liquid lipstick by The Beauty Crop. This is a very dark red that dries down to a matte. I really wish I could find a middle ground with red lipstick. I will try it out though. I may be finding a way to lighten it though.

Delectable hand cream in the flavour sweet mint and cream. Now I have gone back and forth on purchasing this brand. I am happy to see it in the box. I enjoy the formula, my hands did not feel greasy, and I had no allergic reaction. However, the smell I am not so sure about. It reminds me of those thin mints the Girl Guides sell. I do not eat them but they have a distinct smell. Yes, that is what it smells like with out the smell of chocolate. I will be buying from this brand in the future.

As always I will come back and update as I try items.

Luxe Box – Fall 2017

This is a very late review but have done a year subscription to Luxe Box. It is a quarterly subscription (which is why I had to go with a year). I paid $96.00 CAD with free shipping. If you wish to pay quarterly it is $26.00 CAD and free shipping with in Canada.

I was pretty excited to see what was in the box and have new things to try out. I never know what to buy and I love to try new things.

Three of the items that I did not photograph individually are as follows:

Silicon blender by Laritzy Cosmetics. I do not own any blenders since I have never used foundation or concealer. However I am going to give this a shot when applying primer. Since I have one now.

*Update: I find it easier to use my hands with my current face primer. I will give it another shot once I finally invest in trying another brand.

Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment by Glamglow. This is not something I would have bought a bottle of as my skin is pretty sensitive to exfoliation. I will either give it a shot or I will give it to one of my nieces.

*Update: I am giving this to my niece. So unfortunately I cannot give any kind of review on it.

Bath bomb by Sweetie Products. I am excited to use this since it has been forever and a day since I used a bath bomb. I will as soon as I am comfortable soaking in the tub again.

*Update: I did try this out. Got to be honest. I personally did not find anything special about it. So I am going to keep searching for ‘the one’.

I forgot to take a picture of the actual lipstick but it is Sugar Daddy by Medusa’s Makeup. I have been wanting to try this brand; that it was the number one thing I could not wait to try. I have worn it since receiving the box. It is not a staying lipstick but I am in LOVE with the way it applies and feels. I recently went on a red coloured lipstick spree. So, receiving something in the neutral line was fantastic.

**I will have to remember to take a selfie next time I wear but I love this colour and I love the formula.

Fit for a Queen by Morgan Taylor nail polish. Wonderful holiday colour if you prefer to go seasonal with nail lacquer’s. I just simply love how it turned out. Applying two coats gave me full coverage. I just have to see how easy it comes off.

*Update: It is a sparkle polish. It took some work to get off. How I will admit not as much as other sparkle polishes.

Here we have 6 Shades of Nude by Cougar Cosmetics. My swatches suck but Missy was about to wake up and I did not have time to redo them. I have not worn make up in a while but I am hoping this applies nicely. The colours are nice swatched in person.

**Did not like the way the palette was set up. I have chosen to pass it along. I think there are other formulas I prefer as well.

Intensive hand repair by Barefoot Venus hand crème. Love the smell (kind of reminds me of sugar cookies). I do like the feel but it just does not cut it when I am washing my hands every 15 minutes it seems.

As always I will come back and update as I try items.
